Google Compute Engine for DoubleClick

Google Compute Engine lets you use virtual machines (VMs) hosted on Google's infrastructure for your real-time bidding logic. The service provides a great experience for hosting bidding logic for DoubleClick Ad Exchange , but you can use it to host bidders for other exchanges too.

This feature allows users who are currently hosting bidder logic on physical infrastructure to be able to host the same logic in the Cloud, on virtual machines provided by Google. Compute Engine offers many advantages for hosting your bidder logic:

• Ad Exchange customers will consistently receive 100ms latency for bid computation when bidding on an Ad Exchange trading location. Depending on where you are bidding, you should create your virtual machine instances in the corresponding regions:

• Using Compute Engine allows you to place your bidding logic close to other Cloud Platform services that can be used to augment your bidding logic.

• Use all of the standard GCE features, such as:

  • Start high performance virtual machine instances that are consistent in their performance characteristics.
  • From a virtual machine image , mount durable persistent block storage that maintains state beyond the life cycle of the virtual machine instance.
  • Expose your virtual machine to the Internet safely through an easily configurable firewall .
  • Control your virtual machine through a simple REST API or a simple Python command-line tool .

Sign up

To sign up for Compute Engine for DoubleClick, you must have:

• An existing Compute Engine account
• An Ad Exchange account , if you want to use Ad Exchange

If you are signed up for Ad Exchange, Compute Engine will automatically provide 100ms latency when you bid to an Ad Exchange bidding location (described above). There are no additional steps to enable Compute Engine for Doubleclick.
